About

Myanmar Business Journal

Myanmar Business Journal (MBJ) is Myanmar's first data-driven business journal and research startup focused on Myanmar and frontier Asia. With the aim to advance frontier Asia, we build data and business intelligence infrastructure for investors, businesses, policymakers, and a variety of users.

Mission

We aim to develop frontier Asia and to improve the economy through data infrastructure and intelligence. We strive to solve data limitations in frontier markets and deliver trusted business intelligence with a Myanmar-first lens. We combine original reporting, public filings, and structured datasets to explain what is changing, why it matters, and what it means for business, investors, and policymakers.

Vision

To be the most trusted source of business and economic intelligence on Myanmar and frontier Asia, recognized for credibility, depth, and long-term relevance.

Newsroom Standards & Ethics

How we protect accuracy, independence, and trust

Myanmar Business Journal adheres to strict editorial standards to ensure accuracy, independence, and public trust in all published content.

Editorial Independence

MBJ maintains full editorial independence. Editorial decisions are not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, political actors, or commercial partners. Sponsored or commissioned content, if any, is clearly labeled as such.

Accuracy and Verification

We verify factual claims, data points, and quotations using primary sources whenever possible, including official disclosures, company filings, government releases, and reputable international institutions. Data and assumptions are cross-checked before publication.

Source Transparency

We aim to clearly identify sources and methodologies used in our reporting and analysis. Anonymous sources are used sparingly and only when there is a clear public-interest justification.

Corrections and Updates

If a factual error is identified after publication, MBJ will correct the content promptly and transparently. Material updates or revisions are disclosed to readers.

Conflicts of Interest

Contributors and editors are expected to disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the subjects they cover. We avoid coverage that could compromise editorial objectivity.

Responsible Reporting

We recognize that business and economic reporting can influence markets, investment decisions, and public understanding. MBJ avoids sensationalism and prioritizes context, proportionality, and long-term relevance.
